Product photography is reflection management. On a metal or glass subject almost everything you can see is something else in the room, and the prompt's job is to describe that room precisely enough that the reflections land somewhere flattering.
What the prompt fixes
Controlled specular reflections is the operative phrase — it tells the model the highlights are shaped rather than blown out. The 100mm macro is not decoration: that is the focal length commercial product work is actually shot on, and naming it brings the right perspective compression and working distance with it.
A subtle gradient falloff background separates the subject without cutting it out, which is what makes the result usable on a page rather than as a sticker.
The negative prompt removes visible logos, dust and blown highlights — the three things that make a packshot commercially unusable.
Changing it
{{product}} takes the most detail you can give it: material first, then form. Stainless steel and brushed aluminium reflect completely differently.
{{surface}} sets the bounce — polished concrete gives a soft under-reflection, black acrylic gives a mirror. {{lighting}} is where to spend your words; naming a key direction and a fill is the difference between a render and a photograph.
